Since 1989, I have been working as a professional counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor, running my own independent practice. I also spent 24 years working as an NHS counsellor.

Supplementary Training

I have also undertaken a range of supplementary trainings, including Mental Health (Richmond Fellowship); CQSW student supervision; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Gestalt Therapy; and Assertiveness training.

Professional Experience

 

I have worked in the caring professions throughout my thirty five year career, with a range of different people, including children, young people, and the elderly. I spent seven years working with people suffering from mental health problems, in residential and day-care. In addition, I have worked as a counsellor for a number of voluntary organisations, including Nightline (a student counselling service) the Samaritans, Rape Crisis, and the Derwent Rural Counselling Service.

Since 1989, I have been working as a professional counsellor, therapist and supervisor, running my own independent practice, and also working as an NHS Counsellor, based in a number of GP practices.
